Dr. Daralyn Bates was born and raised in the Quinte area. After completing a pre-medical program at the University of Waterloo (HonBSc), she became intrigued by languages and life abroad. Over the next decade, between lengthy stints in Spain and Japan, Daralyn completed a BA in Speech Sciences/Linguistics at the University of British Columbia. Her exposure to other cultures and their concepts of health brought her back home to pursue a rewarding career in Naturopathic Medicine.
Daralyn (HonBSc, BA, ND) is a graduate of the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in British Columbia where she received the Spirit of Boucher Award for overall excellence. She is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor under the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy – Naturopathy (BDDT-N) in Ontario and holds professional memberships to the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND). She was previously licensed by the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (CNPBC). In addition, she is a certified Bowenwork® practitioner.
One of the six tenets of Naturopathic Medicine is “Doctor as Teacher”. Daralyn takes this principle to heart. She was a university instructor prior to becoming an ND and continues to actively pursue many avenues to learn new techniques and treatments to benefit her patients.
